Personal software projects
Occasional projects built for fun and to stay hands-on with code outside of security leadership work. Source is on GitHub.
Argus
A native macOS menu-bar app that watches the process table in real time for living-off-the-land (LOLBin) attack patterns — malicious use of Apple's own signed command-line tools like osascript, curl, xattr, and launchctl in the sequences and argument shapes real adversary tradecraft uses. Detections are built on the Sigma rule format, presented through a live orbit visualization, decaying risk gauge, severity-striped event feed, and activity history. Everything runs locally; nothing is ever sent anywhere.
Selected projects
Jingle Jotter
A cosy, self-hosted Christmas budget and gift tracker that replaces the annual spreadsheet: an idea-to-wrapped purchase pipeline, per-person budgets and allocations, surprise masking so gifts for a signed-in user stay hidden from them, a December city-break planner with an OpenStreetMap itinerary, and read-only archives of past years.
View on GitHub →MediaVault
A self-hosted index of a DVD/Blu-ray film and TV collection on a NAS: it scans the SMB share, probes every file with ffprobe for real resolutions and soundtracks, enriches from TMDB, and presents a poster-forward library with collection timelines, season-by-season show pages, gapless lossless music playback, a “what's missing” collector's report, and per-version links into Jellyfin.
View on GitHub →cal:Track
A native iOS calorie and meal tracker: barcode scanning backed by Open Food Facts, on-device nutrition-label photo scanning via Vision OCR and Apple's Foundation Models framework, TDEE-based calorie budgeting with calorie cycling, BMI and weight tracking, and Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. All data stays on-device.
View on GitHub →Claude Usage Monitor
A native macOS menu bar app that shows Claude account usage at a glance — a ring icon that fills as 5-hour session usage climbs, with a popover breakdown of the session, weekly all-model, and usage-credit limits.
View on GitHub →Job Application Tracker
A multi-user web app for tracking job applications end to end: a drag-and-drop Kanban board, a per-application status timeline, salary/day-rate and IR35 tracking, CV/cover-letter and file attachments, reminders, and a stats dashboard. Sign in with Google; each user's data is private to their own account.
View on GitHub →re:Fresh
A personal meal-planning app for browsing HelloFresh (UK) recipes as cards and planning a week's meals around shared ingredients, cutting food waste and duplicate shopping. Single-user, local-first, with a weekly planner, consolidated shopping list, and printable recipe and shopping-list pages.
